SCOTT NICHOL
What problem are you trying to solve? Golf IQ golf swing aids were designed by Scott Nichol, Canadian PGA teaching pro. I wasn’t satisfied with most of the training aids on the market, so I designed my own to help my students overcome their most frustrating problems. I created and tested my products and they have been proven effective to help you:
- Cure your slice
- Increase your golf distance
- Make more putts
I believe that golf swing aids are an essential component of any improvement program and are not meant to replace other forms of golf education. However over the long term nothing beats improving your swing and that is what a good training aid does.
Golf swing aids can accelerate your improvement. For decades other sports have known the value of training aids as a means of skill acquisition and practice. Boxers have punching bags, football players have tackling dummies, baseball players have weighted bats and pitching machines. So borrow some information from coaches of other sports and use golf training aids to improve your practice and your performance.
The best players in the world use various types of training aids in their practice to avoid the development of bad habits and to improve their swing. You can get that same competitive edge.

Can’t you just learn golf from a book or an instructional DVD?
While golf books and DVDs are chock full of great information about what the golf swing and putting stroke should look like. There is very little that they can do to teach you how to experience the feeling of the correct golf swing . Some of the best golf books rely heavily on illustrations and photographs to communicate what a good golf swing looks like. While this is invaluable information for beginning golfers to garner a concept of what the swing should be, they have limited relevance to the more experienced golfer. So if you have been playing for a couple of years there is not a lot that you can learn from the golf books on your coffee table. In fact 55 year old research in the field of motor learning backs me up on this one.
“Visual control is important while an individual is learning a new perceptual motor task. As performance becomes habitual, however, it is likely that proprioceptive feedback or “feel” becomes MORE important.”

This means that as you develop any habits related to your golf swing or putting stroke that visual feedback is not enough. In my opinion this includes the feedback provided by today’s high tech video equipment and launch monitors.
You absolutely must have proprioceptive feedback on the feel of how you are using the golf club. Only Golf IQ golf swing aids provide this feedback.
GOLF LESSONS
What about golf lessons?
Golf lessons can be a great way to improve your game but unless your instructor gives you accurate feedback on what you should be feeling in the swing, chances are that his or her lessons are going in one ear and out the other.
Many golf instructors use golf swing aids to reinforce their lessons, if yours does not ask him or her why.
The other fact about golf lessons is that your pro is not always with you when you practice or play. So he or she cannot monitor you to make sure that you are not slipping into some bad habits. For those of you that hit the ball better on the range during a lesson than you do on the golf course, you need to restructure your practice so that you are getting accurate reliable feedback as to the condition of your golf swing. Golf swing aids provide this feedback making your lessons and your practice more effective and productive.
Can’t I just hit a million balls to improve?
Without accurate reliable feedback in your practice you are likely to learn some bad habits. Studies have shown that improvement in motor skill performance can occur after over 10, 000, 000 repetitions. Therefore you can get better through practice as long as you do not fall into any bad habits, and then you could get worse.
Using golf swing aids that provide reliable accurate proprioceptive feedback will prevent you from falling into bad habits. This is why I recommend keeping golf swing aids in your golf bag and using them every time that you practice. As the old saying goes, practice does not make perfect, practice makes permanent. Therefore by using Golf IQ golf swing aids when you practice you are certain to be improving your swing even after 10,000,001 repetitions.
It also helps that Golf IQ golf swing aids are inconspicuous and easy to use so you won’t have to literally tie yourself into knots to get better.
NEW GOLF CLUBS
What about new golf clubs can’t they help my game?
It is true that properly fitted golf clubs can improve your game. But a new driver does not increase your club head speed, nor can it improve your swing plane. So if you keep buying new equipment, you may see small improvements, but your fundamental problems will remain.
Golf IQ golf swing aids will help you learn how to better use your new clubs so you get even more enjoyment out of your latest purchase. Make Golf IQ golf swing aids a part of your practice and your game will always be improving. (and for a lot less than that new driver will cost you)
